About The Work
Ni queue ni tête is an original drawing by Véra Molnar with a musical composition by Jean-Yves Bosseur. At the end of the 1950s, Molnar created a series of inclined segments linked together at the top and bottom, by using a data processing programme. Coming back to this work later on, the artist presented a piece resuming the totality of her research on the line, disorder, widening and shrinking.
Bosseur, composer and musicologist, has studied the graphic structure proposed by Véra Molnar in order to adapt and transcribe it musically in the form of a partition for the harpsichord. What he explored goes beyond a simple musical adaptation—he created a musical vocabulary that echoes Véra Molnar’s formal project.
