About The Work
Angelika J. Trojnarski’s paintings contain a certain tension within themselves. Being highly interested in natural sciences, Trojnarski is revealing their inherent inconsistency – scientific knowledge believed to be true is all too frequently proven to be wrong and updated by new theories. While acknowledging the simultaneousness of facts and visions, her work represents the never-ending and accelerating cycle of growth and decay, progress and collapse, pursuit and failure. Hybrid creatures, entities and architectonical constructs are staged in exterior and interior spaces, raising the question whether they are emerging or bursting. Trojnarski seeks answers to the question of what is animating us to strive, to grow and be creative in both art and science.
