About The Work

Gosh I’ve Been Here Before is an ambitious cut paper piece from Oakland-based artist Annie Vought, who is known for her intimate explorations of the written word. Cutting through the negative space in her elaborate and delicate works, Vought creates spellbinding structures. The artist says of this large-scale work, “It was by far the most detailed, longest project I have ever worked on. But through this piece I was able to put a finer point on what I am trying to articulate.”
