Alan Magee

Irish artist Alan Magee’s practice crosses many disciplines from sculpture, installation and drawing, to a variety of lens based media. Often addressing issues that arise from the politics of power, labor and control, Magee’s playful, often absurdist compositions juxtapose bodies and objects, high art, and everyday life. The artist’s rendering of domestic objects take on powerful symbolism as the markers of the human condition.

Magee exhibits regularly between Ireland and the UK, with selected exhibitions and screenings further afield, including DOLPH Projects, London, Nexus Arts & Highlanes Gallery, Drogheda, Studio 1.1, London. Group shows include White Cube, London, Maria Stenfors, London, Berloni Gallery, London and Ormston House, Limerick. Magee is currently a lecturer at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London.
