Andrea Grützner
Andrea Grutzner uses analog photography in her artistic process with assorted lights and gels, creating photographs that are simultaneously abstract and representational. According to the artist, "Shadows are traces and marks that have a direct relation to the object, but through the projection, these objects can appear twice as big or transformed and changed, they take on their own lives" and thus, "they work a lot like memories." She explains that her pictures refer to her personal perception of built environments and their histories, and in a more general sense, how architecture affects emotion and a collective identity.
