Andy Burgess

Andy Burgess, a London-born painter and collage artist, is best known for his colorful explorations of modernist and mid-century architecture as well as his mosaic-like collages created using vintage matchbooks, ticket stubs, and other aged ephemera. Describing his style as “Pop Geometry,” Burgess uses vibrant color and clean edges to create work reflecting his many influences and interests including Kurt Schwitters, David Hockney, Bauhaus, De Stijl, and the “golden age” of American advertising and graphic design from the 1930s-1960s.

Burgess’ work has been featured in several international art fairs and publications as well as solo and group shows throughout Europe and the United States, including Cynthia Corbett Gallery, New York, Andrea Schwartz Gallery, San Francisco, University of Arizona Museum of Art, Tucson, Sue Greenwood Fine Art, Laguna Beach, CA, Clifton Interiors, London, and Gavin Graham Gallery, Notting Hill, London.
