Bas van den Hurk

Bas van den Hurk's work incorporates paintings as objects, posturing them as a facet of a larger installation. He is interested in the conventional implications of the medium and the boundaries that inherently exist with a canvas, and views his gestural painterly works as "events." He incorporates found objects such as clothing and fabric, video, photography in his installations and creates a conceptual, philosophical, and political dialogue between mediums.
