Ben Jamie

The paintings of Ben Jamie explore the boundaries between the grotesque and the saccharine, and seek to turn the mundane into the unusual. His inspiration comes from many sources, be it studio detritus, fly-tipping, trans-humanism or fast food, and although based in reality, his paintings are fairly undisturbed by the real world. This allows Jamie to create notional, metamorphic spaces, and fabricate an idealized past or future, which can be populated with allegorical figures and objects.

Jamie has shown his paintings in a number of exhibitions including Edel Assanti Gallery, London, Bond House Gallery, London, Turps Gallery, United Kingdom and Sugar House Lane, London.
