Cyprien Gaillard

Cyprien Gaillard Born in 1980 in Paris, Gaillard is one of the most internationally renowned and successful artists of the recent generation. Trained at the L'Ecole Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne, his works have been exhibited in over 30 solo exhibitions to date. In his work, Gaillard uses different media: from sculpture, photography and film, to installation, performance and large-scale interventions in public space. Cyprien Gaillardʼs art illuminates civilization and cultural development and decay processes, traces of human activity, and the field of tension between architecture and nature. His consistent practice has won him many awards, including the Prix Marcel Duchamp (2010) and the National Gallery Prize for Young Art (2011).
