Dan Rees

Dan Rees lives and works in Berlin and London. His photographs and videos draw on the idea of communication and conversations with art history and established artists: Variable Peace (2006-present) comprises videos of Rees playing table tennis while talking with Conceptual artists a generation older than himself (including Jonathan Monk and Simon Starling). Another nod to Conceptual art traditions is Rees’s slide projection 80 Girlfriends in 2007 (2007), a reference to Ed Ruscha’s Five 1955 Girlfriends.
