Devon Tsuno

Los Angeles-native Devon Tsuno paints with spray paint and acrylic. His recent body of abstract paintings on handmade papers focuses on the LA landscape’s bodies of water and native versus non-native vegetation. Utilizing risograph printing, his print projects include artist books and site-specific installations. Tsuno and has exhibited internationally in Japan, Mexico, Korea, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, and New Zealand.


Recent solo exhibitions include Occidental College, Los Angeles, Roppongi 605, Tokyo, PØST, Los Angeles, and Azusa Pacific University, Los Angeles. Notable US exhibitions include the Hammer Museum Venice Beach Biennial, Los Angeles,  Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art, Torrance Art Museum, California, and Monte Vista Projects, Los Angeles. Tsuno was the artist in residence at Chloë Flores FB, and Stichting Kaus Australis in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He was awarded a 2014 CCF Emerging Artist Fellowship for Visual Art. Since 2003, Devon has worked as the founder/director of Concrete Walls, an artist run curatorial project that focuses on building community by facilitating collaborations, educational projects, and group exhibitions throughout Southern California. He is an Assistant Professor of Art at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
