Enrico Della Torre

Born in Pizzighettone, Enrico Della Torre graduated from the Brera Academy in 1955 where he met the Ticino artist Massimo Cavalli. Also in the fifties he also attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Like Cavalli, Della Torre's work develops between the technique of engraving and that of painting. 


After his first solo exhibition in 1956 at the Ariete Gallery in Milan, his regular exhibition activity takes place in Italy and abroad, especially in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His recognized artistic and exhibition work is accompanied by educational experiences. Since 1992 he has been teaching engraving techniques at the New Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. He has received numerous awards such as, the San Fedele Painting Prize in 1960, in Milan, the International “Lario” Prize for design, in Como in 1981, and the Prize of the Triennale dell'Incisione at the Permanente Museum in Milan, in 1994. Enrico Della Torre was invited to the 54th Biennale of Venice in 2011. He exhibits regularly in Italy and abroad.
