Jennifer Rochlin

Jennifer Rochlin aims to celebrate life’s small, tender, and simple moments through her experimentations with ceramic tiles, painting, and site specific installation. She often revisits beautifully romantic memories in attempts to illustrate these personal narratives. Rochlin’s works are thoughtful in subject matter while expressive and automatic in conception. Her pieces are augmented by seemingly tangible texture and the presence of the artist’s hand. Much of her work draws upon concocted surrealist imagery realised through interdisciplinary collage based assemblage.

Rochlin has displayed her work in solo and two-person shows at South Willard in Los Angeles, Statler Waldorf Gallery in Los Angeles, Institute of Visual Arts at the University of Milwaukee in Wisconsin, and Black Dragon Society in Los Angeles. She has additionally participated in several group exhibitions, most recently at The Pit in Los Angeles, Machine Projects in Los Angeles, Dutton Gallery in New York, Redling Fine Art in Los Angeles, Jack Geary Contemporary Art in New York, and the Gamble House in Pasadena, California. The Nathalie Karg Gallery in New York was the location for her first site specific installation “Window Project” in 2014.
