Jordan Baseman

Jordan Baseman's work derives from a combination of recorded interviews and observational processes, as well as archival source material which through his work is transformed into narrative-based, creative non-fiction. Baseman’s recent exhibition of haunting memorial images, held at Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool in spring of 2016: Flat Death: Edgar Martins & Jordan Baseman, presented a series of images from a long tradition of photography being used by families in order to memorialise their deceased loved ones. The work invited us to reflect on how we deal with death, both personally and as a society.
