Liana Nigri

Through living materials, sculpture, photography, drawing, and installation Liana Nigri creates work which is primarily inspired by elements of nature in relation to the passage of time. This contrast promotes the notion of impermanence as she observes changes on the surface of plants and human skin in the course of their subsequent life cycle. Through this process her work invites the audience to take a closer look at life in the perspective of decay, revealing beauty where never before imaged.

In 2016 Nigri held a residency at Despina in Rio de Janeiro, following her Summer Studio Residency at SVA in New York the year prior. In 2015 Nigri exhibited her first solo show at Natura Innovation Hub in New York and has contributed to group exhibitions at SVA and Cipriani in New York, Casa Samambaia in São Paulo, Brazil, and LZ Studio in Rio de Janeiro.
