Lucebert Swaanswijk

One of the leading figures in Eastern Europe's mid-century art movement, COBRA (an acronym for the three participant cities—Copenhagen, Brussels, and Amsterdam), the Dutch artist and poet Lucebert Swaanswijk is often credited for having laid foundation for revolutionary innovation in Dutch poetry. In his later years, Lucebert turned his focus primarily toward the visual arts, working primarily as a figurative expressionist throughout the '60s.
