Morgan Courtois

French artist Morgan Courtois’s sculptures employ a variety of materials including ceramic, dead plant material, and light bulbs. His objects are organic not only in form, but often in material as well; his use of dead flowers are poetic yet impermanent. His work is often inspired by film; the artist has referred to the work of director Jean-Luc Godard as a pivotal influence.

After graduating from the Valenciennes Beaux-Arts, he attended École nationale des beaux-arts de Lyon where he obtain the Paris Award. In 2014 he co-founded  "Pauline Perplexe”, a  studio and exhibition space. Courtois has exhibited at Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg, Balice Hertling in Paris, and De la Charge in Bruxelles.
