Nora Shields

Los Angeles based artist Nora Shields creates circular relief sculptures using metal, fabric, and paper. Her work ranges in tone from the understated all-white Untitled to Metal Painting (Yellow fringe), a cacophony of vibrant color blocks and found patterns. This work combines playful elements, such as yellow fringe, with references to industrial materials like metal signage. The dramatic clashing of various patterns in her work draws from her time working in theater and costuming.

Her work has been included in exhibitions at The Pit, Los Angeles, Actual Size, Los Angeles, JB Jurve, Los Angeles, and Project Art Space, New York.
