Regina Scully

Regina Scully's oversized paintings are certainly a treat for the eye. Using acrylic on wood or canvas, Scully constructs fantastic dreamscapes beyond time and place. The eye struggles to make sense of the blocks of color and crude brushstrokes, to try to figure out what this represents, but to no avail. Scully's works are open for interpretation: loose enough so that the viewers can project their own associations onto the canvas, but not so loose that we get lost in the flurry of motion and color Scully works so hard to achieve. Scully has held exhibitions as such galleries as boltax gallery in Shelter Island, NY and the Heriard-Cimino Gallery in New Orleans.
