Rob Ward

Rob Ward’s work focuses on the connection between space and mind. His sculptures are places where the object interacts with drawing, the landscape and people. In 1989, a retrospective of Ward’s work was held at the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds. In 2000, Ward became an Associate Member of the Royal Society of British Sculpture, an elected fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an elected trustee of the Royal Society of British Sculptors. In 2004, Ward was part of the International Sculpture Exhibition, Castello di Aglie, Italy and also had solo shows in both London and Italy.


Ward had his first solo show at the Hatton Gallery at Newcastle University 1969. Since then he has exhibited throughout Britain and globally, in Australia, Canada, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan and the United States. He has taught at a number of universities and schools of art throughout Britain. He is a visiting lecturer at various international institutions including Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Sydney College of the Arts, University of New South Wales.
