Tchelo

Tchelo's research and artistic production is directed at the use of the line–visual or imaginary. He attempts to create a connection between humans and the way that we perceive the form and content of the world around us. A line is a pure element that in its simplicity can achieve diverse meanings, sometimes antagonistic–it can divide or unite, can be a path or border, unit or sequence, space or time. Expressing this thematic variety in many mediums, Tchelo uses line variations to compose perpetually varying panoramas of simplicity and repetition.

Solo exhibitions of Tchelo’s work have been presented in São Paulo at the Municipal Cultural Center of Guarulhos and Qualcasa Galerie Space. His work has been included in group exhibitions at Reina Sofia Museum, Zipper Gallery and House of Xiclet in São Paulo, and Casa da Cultura Paraty, among other venues.
