Theis Wendt

The ruinous appearance of Theis Wendt’s sculptures unlocks a view on a post-humanist, dystopian future. The different materials Wendt applies in his sculptures seem to mimic each other’s decaying textures, as if the materials were consciously trying to adjust to one another. In many of Wendt’s works digital techniques (like prints on various materials) are used to mimic ‘real’ materials. Wendt creates landscapes in which ecological disaster and digital reality meet.

Wendt has exhibited at San Diego Art Institute, San Diego, Brandts Sculpture Triennal, Odense, DK, Torrance Art Museum, Los Angeles, Kalmar Konstmuseum, Kalmar, SE, and Andersen’s Contemporary, Copenhagen.
