Thomas McDonell’s art works recontextualize the visual language of contemporary film production. A professional actor, as well as a visual artist, he often incorporates found objects from film sets into his paintings, sculptures, and installations. He has transformed an “apple box” props riser into a daybed for gallery visitors and printed canvases with excerpts from film scripts.
His work has been presented at venues such as Roberts & Tilton Gallery in Los Angeles, Bellevue Arts Museum, Kathleen Cullen Fine Arts in New York, and FIELD Contemporary in Vancouver.
