Timothy Cummings

Timothy Cumming's immaculately haunting figurative compositions begin with their solemn, often unsettling expressions: “I start painting the face, and it tells me where to go." Adorned in Edwardian finery and a carnival side-show romanticism, the fantastic allure of Cummings work is as seductive and alluring as it is disturbing.

Along with designing the cover art for musician Rufus Wainwright's 2016 album "Take All My Loves: 9 Shakespeare Sonnets,” Cummings' work has been exhibited nationwide, with solo shows at Nancy Hoffman Gallery, Catharine Clark, and Hampden Gallery to name a few. He has also been included in group shows at SF MoMA, and Kala Art Institute.
