Vera Lutter

A photographer with a penchant for cityscapes, Vera Lutter began her photography career after being inspired by the lights and landscape of New York City. Interested in capturing her experiences in the most direct manner possible, Lutter turned her New York apartment into a pinhole camera, capturing the outside world on her interior walls. Though Lutter maintains a New York apartment, she has gone on to travel internationally, photographing landscapes, architectural sites, industrial warehouses, and cityscapes around the world, most often using a Camera Obscura technique.

Lutter's works have been included group and solo shows at notable institutions such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, the Centre Pompidou, Dia: Beacon and Dia: Chelsea, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
