Zin Helena Song

Zin Helena Song is a painter whose highly technical paintings layer hard-edged abstraction on top of meticulously-created supports. She creates each uniquely shaped panel by hand to augment the crisp geometric lines of her vivid and pastel color planes. The visual complexity of her compositions are diagrammed according to her notions of order and multiplicity in modern urban society.

Her work has been featured on Trendland, Design Milk, and the Brooklyn Rail. Song has shown at the Korean Cultural Center in Washington, DC, and Galerie Youn, Montreal. Song was the recipient of and O’Mally Scholarship at LIU and recently received the Eleanor Lockwood Memorial Award in Sculpture. Upon finishing her studies and a subsequent string of exhibitions and fairs, Song recently relocated to her home in Korea.
