Breanne Trammell

Breanne Trammell is a multi-disciplinary artist with a background in printmaking. Her work explores objects and icons from popular culture, the confluence of highbrow and lowbrow, and mines from her personal history. It presents common experiences and awkward memories that we come to terms with, and commemorates these experiences through humor and playful formalism, like a giant papier-mâché paper clip, or letterpress-printed twitter posts. Objects, observations, and inescapable memories that may seem unimportant are made significant through the lens of Trammell’s work.

Trammell also makes work with Jeff Barnett-Winsby, a photographer and community organizer, under the moniker Dinkholt & Heinbar. They utilize collaboration and play to break free from the established narratives of their personal work. Their alternative curiosities and interests, that at times seem peripheral, can be explored more freely by utilizing collaborative efforts.

Trammell’s work has been exhibited widely. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Wassaic Project, Endless Editions, Women’s Studio Workshop, the Kala Institute, and Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Print Media at Kent State University.
