Both American and Brazilian, Frida has lived and worked in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paris, Berlin, London and New York. From the early works and throughout the years, the relationship that Baranek entertained with materials consists in defying their resistance to lead them to their metamorphosis: to build with and against it. Her work is the expression of her perceptive faith, where perceiving and imagining are two ways of thinking.
