Mitsuo Kano

Kanu Mitsuo is a Japanese engraver and illustrator of the twentieth century, born in 1933 in Tokyo. He does not have any artistic training, but, very young, and he is interested in poetry, in particular French poetry: Lautréamont, Rimbaud and Sade. When he worked as an assistant to a botanist, he was fascinated by the study of micro-biomorphology and micro-organisms. His talent was discovered by the surrealist poet Shūzō Takiguchi. He participates in numerous international collective exhibitions.
