Barb Flunker

Barb Flunker creates abstract works of art using the materials that define her daily life, combined with fragments from her travels. Her mixed media works incorporating screen, frames, wood, cord, wallpaper, and travel brochures, express her intimate view of the world, exploring familiar and foreign environments. Flunker also works with oils on canvas. Her powerful abstract paintings draw inspiration from the same source—home and away. Her works on canvas are defined by color, movement, and layering, suggesting diverse and sometimes conflicting responses to her environment.


Flunker’s work has been exhibited at Anthony Philip Fine Art, New York NY, Contemporary Art Museum, St Louis MO, Denise Roberge Gallery, Palm Desert CA, Mark Palmer Gallery, Paducah KY, and COCA, St Louis MO. Her work has been has been reviewed in New York Times and featured in St Louis Home & Lifestyles Magazine.
