About The Work

This vibrant, colorful, textural, oil painting was started years ago and has been reworked. Earlier this year it was snowing and the artist immediately knew what to do to finish the piece. Using oils, the artist added the snow with her hands. The piece then takes several months to dry because of the texture. It is now dry so sit back and snow bathe. Let the peace and calm surround you!

Barb Flunker creates abstract works of art using the materials that define her daily life, combined with fragments from her travels. Her mixed media works incorporating screen, frames, wood, cord, wallpaper, and travel brochures, express her intimate view of the world, exploring familiar and foreign environments. Flunker also works with oils on canvas. Her powerful abstract paintings draw inspiration from …
