Bleda y Rosa

Husband and wife team María Bleda and José María Rosa have been are considered an important reference in the Spanish contemporary photography. The core of their work is the representation of territory, seeking to emphasise the complex interweave of the cultures and times that shape it. They transform the landscape genre into highly evocative images that show their own experience of the places they photograph. Time’s sediment, tracks, and memory are the intangible elements that build their works.

They have had solo exhibitions at Real Jardín Botánico in Madrid, Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo in Sevilla, Musée d'Art Moderne in Collioure, and Rosenthal Fine Art in Chicago, among other venues. Their work has been presented in group exhibitions at institutions such as Cairo’s Museum of Modern Art, AA Architectural Association in London, Centro Santa Mónica in Barcelona, Museo de Navarra in Pamplona, Museo de la Ciudad in Madrid, and MANIFESTA 4 in Frankfurt.
