    About The Work

The Artemis of Ephesus, hearing the music of Orpheus, shares his pain and that of the dead animals. She can no longer give to the men who linger to celebrate Victory without surpassing it. Wherever she looks on Earth, she sees only desolation, triumphal arches being built and then ruined, and the adoration of crosses that replace nature in the minds of humans.
