Chantal Joffe

A painter best known for her figurative works of young women, Chantal Joffe creates vibrant, lively canvases that celebrate the human body. Joffe introduces an element of abstraction into her figurative works, evincing a distinct style of painting that draws on bold lines and geometric forms to create powerful human portraits. Turning away from the classical style of portraiture, Joffe often captures her subjects in awkward or humorous poses, frequently framed just off center of the canvas.

Joffe has been included in exhibitions at notable institutions including the Tate Britain, the Royal Academy of Art in London, and the ICA London.
