About The Work
With no single genre or medium dictating direction, Haggerty is led by a desire to make art of many varieties with fresh eyes. An active inner life informs her work. She has a great appreciation of the created world, attempting to highlight the beauty of overlooked items that have known life, e.g. feathers, leaves, and pods as well as scavenged treasures that have a history, e.g. scraps of metal or plastic, pieces of maps or photos—all imbue the work with a certain power. Within a composition, such objects (and/or other elements) create a dialogue, first with one another and then with the viewer. She enjoys facilitating the conversation.
