    About The Work

This print is one of a number of works by Donald Baechler that features his highly recognizable red, gray, and black rendering of a thistle. Similar to the other thistle iterations, the flower appears in the foreground of an assemblage of found images and texts. in this instance specifically, the loose, childlike lines of the thistle drastically contrast with the journalistic headshot, traditional profile silhouette, and typed poems.
