Egill Sæbjörnsson

Egill Sæbjörnsson is an artist and musician known for his quirky fusion of sound, video, installation, and sculpture. A multimedia artist in the truest sense, Sæbjörnsson simply disregards the traditional boundaries between genres and media. His mercurial artistic projects have included enlivening everyday cleaning supplies with psychedelic light projections, creating "pseudo instruments" out of linen bags, and making videos of talking rocks. Despite the diversity of his projects, Dada, animism, and absurdist cabaret remain touchstones of Sæbjörnsson's work. He has collaborated with artists such as Klaus Weber, Björk, and Robert Wilson; and has shown widely in Iceland and throughout the world including the Hamburger Bahnhof Museum of Contemporary Art in Berlin, Cueto Project in New York, West London Projects in London, and the Reykjavik Art Museum.
