Emmett Moore

Emmett Moore is a Miami based sculptor and furniture designer known for his sharply crafted objects that combine practices of art, design and function. By pushing sculptural boundaries, Moore challenges conventions of structure and material, incorporating everything from 3D printing to oil drums and carpentry tools. His objects “objects play with materiality, geometry, and a digital design process,” which aids Moore’s interest “in reconstituting versions of objects—using their original material and geometric qualities to create functional modules for furniture.”

Emmett Moore’s work has been exhibited institutionally at the RISD Museum, The Frost Art Museum, The Miami Art Museum, and The Bass Museum of Art.  Gallery exhibitions and projects include those at Gallery Diet, where he is represented, Design Miami, Architecture at Large, Primary Projects, Locust Projects, OHWOW, and The Standard Miami. Emmett’s interest fluctuates between function and form, recently he has focused on site specific private commissions as well as working with artists to explore conditions of display.
