For his first individual exhibition at Kubikgallery, Pedro will present a set of pieces that were developed throughout this past year that trace contrary clues in a format of hybrid compositions. The artworks assemble different matters, gestures of others, accumulation of data with different fonts, revealing itself, at last into a condition of frozen mutability. 

“...(outro)” [other] is such an inclusive word that attaches what comes before as well as it refers or connects the space to what comes after. It may aim to an alternative option, a different one plus one or a precedent or even the next, but if we relate it to music, for example, it may indicate a conclusive outcome. These artworks articulate with these assumptions; they can aim to something that instigates them, (memories or experienced roles) but also they seem to present themselves frozen in a definite state…inept (as they were processed instruments incapacitated to return to their previous condition before their operability).

Pedro Tudela has already a long, perfectly solid and established artistic path, having passed through several institutions, museums and galleries and now he returns to his activity with Kubikgallery to exhibit his latest work.

Enshrined and respected artist in the art circle, experimental music, performing arts and scenography, Pedro is a Professor and Course Director of the Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. Since 1980 that he shows his work regularly inside and outside Portugal, having participated in many exhibitions, performances and international art fairs. He received several painting and drawing awards and he’s represented in private collections and museums: Fundação de Serralves - Museu de Arte Contemporânea, Centro de Arte Moderna - Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Funchal, Banco Privado, Anacom, Portugal Telecom, Bes and Fundação PLMJ.
