    About The Work

Trained as an architect, Francisco Ugarte creates artworks that reference architectural planning and interiors. This photograph was taken at the Museo Casa Luis Barragan, one of the icons of contemporary Mexican architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the artist staged an intervention by covering much of the household in tinfoil. The artist’s intention was to subtract objects from their everyday environment to make visible what usually passes unnoticed.
