Fraser Stewart

The notion of the sublime is continuously present in the work of Fraser Stewart, whose practice involves performance, sculpture, photography and film. He exposes his artistic tools and his own physicality to the laws of physics, using natrual forces to shape his work. He is the all-seeing director of his narratives and forms, which teeter between both tragedy and humor.

Fraser Stewart was a resident at the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam (2014 – 2015). He had performances at museums and institutions throughout Europe and participated in several group exhibitions. Fraser Stewart received his BA with honours at Leeds Met University School of Contemporary Art and Graphic Design and got his Masters at the Dutch Art Institute (DAI) in Arnhem.
