Greg Ito is known for his multidisciplinary practice including painting, sculpture, and installation. Ito's superflat paintings, crisply rendered, depict images and symbols that offer loose narrative themes of longing and tragedy diagrammatically placed within separated vignettes on the painting's surface. Ito's immersive installations tailor surreal spaces with scenic techniques used for movie productions, setting the tone for viewers' experiences with the paintings and sculpture in an exhibition.
Ito's work has recently been exhibited at Steve Turner, Los Angeles, MON CHÉRI, Brussels, Et al., San Francisco; Johannes Vogt, NY, and SADE, Los Angeles. He has upcoming exhibitions at Romer Young, San Francisco; and Andrew Rafacz Gallery, Chicago in 2017.
