Hayal Pozanti

Inspired by the artist, architect, designer, and theorist Frederick Kiesler, who described geometric forms as "the trading posts of visible and invisible forces," Turkish-born, New York-based artist Hayal Pozanti creates colorful, collage-like abstract paintings that attempt to define what the artist calls "shapes that have not existed before." While she initially worked primarily with new media, creating animations and digital collages, Pozanti turned to painting as a means of "[remembering] how it felt to use all of my body and senses while creating," resulting in works that explore the omnipresence of technology in contemporary culture and society through analog means.
