About The Work

In the wall-based sculpture, Lozenge, Hendry presents cross-sections of molded objects made from plaster, jesmonite, steel, and wood. Painted in soft pastel blues and whites, the curvilinear sculptures feature grooved sections into which have been lodged defunct conveyor belts and nonfunctioning motors once used in rock polishers. Lifted from their contexts, these practical components are put on display so that viewers may appreciate the design that undergirds their function.
