Jake Longstreth

American artist and painter Jake Longstreth’s work approaches landscape as a visionary exploration of architecture, perspective and color. Hand-painted, devoid of human figures and often photo-based, Longstreth’s paintings capture everything from distant treetops to beige pharmacy walls and lonely corners of suburbia. 


Longstreth has had solo exhibitions at galleries such as ltd los angeles, Gregory Lind Gallery in San Francisco, and Monya Rowe Gallery in New York. His work has been included in group exhibitions at  Blum & Poe in Los Angeles, Eagle Rock Center for the Arts in Los Angeles, and Herter Gallery at UMASS Amherst, among others. He is a recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and a 2007 Artist in Residence at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts. He has been featured in Art in America, Artforum, Huffington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, amongst others.
