Jason Gomez

The practice of Los Angeles-based artist Jason Gomez is often informed by his background as a librarian, pulling reference from both historical and art historical sources such as classical Greek sculpture and scientific process. His mixed media works, crated out of plaster, resin and wax, incorporate various abstracted objects and forms as a means of re-contextualization.

In 2012 Gomez completed a residency at the Banff Centre. He was an artist in residence at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, and has shown his work in several exhibitions in the United States and Europe.
