    About The Work

    Le Chien aboyant à la Lune is a beautiful color lithograph on tissue paper, realized in 1952 by the Spanish Surrealist artist, Joan Mirò  Signed on stone on the lower left corner and numbered in pencil on higher left margin on the verso. Published on the “Verve” magazine, Vol. VII, nn. 27/28, this wonderful original print is in excellent condition, except for the medial folds above all visible on the back. A historical composition by Miró, which foreshadows the cycle of Ubu Roi. "Dog Barking to the Moon" is also an original painting realized in 1926 and a "Dog Barking to the Flying" is another variant of the painting made in 1936. On the back, there is an original lithograph in two colors, the "Red and black dancer" accompanied by a short poetic text written by Miró:” "The dog that barks at the Moon awakens the rooster, the song of the cock pecks at the skull of the Catalan peasant ... "
