Katharina Grosse

The Berlin-based artist Katharina Grosse is known for the vibrant palette and exuberant gestures of her large-scale canvases and raucous installations that merge painting, sculpture, and architecture. Grosse is a Professor at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in Germany. She has had recent solo and group exhibitions at institutions including The Surburban, Chicago, Contemporary Art Center, Cincinnati, Arken Museum for Moderne Kunst, Kopenhagen, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, and Museu de Art de São Paulo, Brazil, among others. Grosse’s work is held in collections internationally including Centre Pompidou in Paris, Kunstmuseum Bern in Switzerland, Sprengel Museum in Hannover, and Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea in Santiago de Compostela, among others. Grosse is represented by Barbara Gross, Munich, Galerie Nächst St. Stephan, Vienna, and Galerie Mark Müller, Zurich.
