    About The Work

In 2005, on the occasion of her solo show at the KW Institute of Contemporary Art in Berlin, the politically and socially oriented artist Katharina Sieverding instigated a city-wide poster campaign titled Die Pleite. The name of this admirable public outreach campaign referenced a Dada periodical of the 1920s, in which artists such as George Grosz, Wieland Herzfelde, and John Heartfield defiantly criticized the Weimar Republic.
