Kazuhito Tanaka

Kazuhito Tanaka creates a new form of abstract expression through photographic works that traverse between the digital and analog worlds. His photographs question anew the idea of color, configuration, and vision. His method of expression pursues deep into the boundary between abstract and concrete using photography and is a unique approach to the string of context found in abstract paintings represented by Piet Mondrian, Clyfford Still and others.

He has had solo exhibitions at Maki Fine Arts in Tokyo, Gallery Antenna in Kyoto, Gallery PARC in Kyoto, and Port Gallery T in Osaka. His work has been included in group exhibitions at institutions such as Tokyo’s Museum of Contemporary Art. Along with his personal work, Tanaka has been gaining exposure by curating artist-led projects such as Her Name is Abstra at Daido soko, Kyoto in 2012 and NEW INTIMACIES at Hotel Anteroom Gallery 9.5, Kyoto in 2014.
